Congratulations to
Kristin Gaiovnik from Jeddito, AZ, winner of the 2009 I teach K! Tell Us Your Story Competition.

Kristin won the grand prize of four days of free tuition to the 2010 I teach K! Conference. Read for yourself Kristin's touching entry:

"Charlie presented me with a mangled rose he had taped back together after the morning bus ride and said 'Thanks for teaching me I can learn!'"

Sheri Hoerth from Ripon, CA. Sheri won two days of free tuition to the 2010 I teach K! Conference.

"We all have those students that drive us crazy. Jack was mine. Each day was a struggle to get him to behave and to participate. I often went home crying, feeling that I couldn’t get through to him. Graduation approached, and Jack had me worried that he would act up, he instead did the opposite. He sat as still as can be and would not sing. After the ceremony, his mom came up to me crying and said, 'Jack's dad is in prison for a violent crime which Jack saw. His dad always called him a stupid brat and always ignored him, his only structure and rules came from you. Jack was up all night crying because he didn't want to leave Kindergarten and his teacher'. She said, 'Thank you for being a hero to my son.' This is why I teach, I made a difference."
